Weight loss surgery diet recipes

Gastric bypass diet from @bijouxandbits

If you’re planning to eat according to a weight loss surgery diet, this is the resource for you. Many of my low carb recipes can be applied to weight loss surgery patients for their gastric bypass diet, lap band diet, duodenal switch diet, or vertical sleeve gastrectomy diet.

The bariatric surgery diet is a phased plan that allows your stomach to heal and to slowly accommodate more varied foods. As I make foods that might apply to your bariatric diet, I’ll add them to this page as a resource for all weight loss surgery diets.

Note: I’m not a doctor or dietitian and none of these recipes should be eaten without following your doctor’s guidelines. Your prescribed weight loss surgery diet phases may differ from these. See my disclaimer for more information.

Bariatric diet pureed phase

  • Blueberry almond ricotta bake (this one is infinitely adaptable!)
  • Chocolate covered cherry green smoothie
  • Balsamic strawberries with mascarpone cream
  • Classic carrot and turnip mash
  • Ultra easy chia seed pudding
  • Healthy and minty faux “shamrock” shake

    Bariatric diet soft food phase

  • Low carb lemon coconut truffles
  • Healthy stuffed snickerdoodle muffins
  • Chocolate chip cookie dough truffles (skip the chips in this phase)
  • Peanut butter cup protein truffles
  • Super easy sweet potato tater tots
  • Warm blue cheese and fig dip

    Bariatric diet later phases

Many of my recipes are low carb and can be eaten in the final phases of your gastric bypass diet (or other surgery). Once in a while I’ll post carbalicious recipes that you should avoid, though, since I cook for more than just me. So always stick to your own dietary needs.
